Photography Courses
Our Photography Courses are a good foundation for anyone with little knowledge in the technical and aesthetic aspects of photography. The theories are taught during the workshops and participants will have the opportunity to put their new skills into practice under the supervision of their instructor during tuition.

Through these courses you will learn the basics of photography and progress to the stage where you can use your camera confidently and creatively.

These courses will take place at weekends (although mid-week courses can be arranged on request). Weather permitting; we will visit locations along the World Heritage site of the Dorset coastline. Possible locations include: Portland Bill, West Weares, Durdle Door, Kimeridge, Burton Bradstock, West Bay, Eypes Mouth.

The courses are suitable for photographers of all levels, and if you have particular requirements or requests, please feel free to contact us, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Sparkler shots are a growing trend in wedding photography. This 3-hour location course will teach you how to get a great shoot every time. You will also Learn how to create your own Christmas card by writing, drawing or painting in light on your photos.

You will need to bring: your digital SLR, memory cards, tripod, warm, waterproof clothing and sensible footwear, neutral density grad filter with holder (optional). The following would also be an advantage: cable / remote release.

This on-location course includes transport to three Dorset locations and incorporates dawn and dusk shoots.You will learn to get the best from your camera, including photographic composition, exposure, aperture and depth of field, and using filters.In addition you will learn post production skills and mastering Photoshop to allow you to get the best from your digital images.You will need to bring: your digital SLR, memory cards, tripod, warm, waterproof clothing and sensible footwear, neutral density grad filter with holder (optional), packed lunch if required The following would also be an advantage: cable / remote release, neutral density polarising filter.You will also need to bring a laptop to download and view your images.

This 4-hour course of theory and practical work outdoors in Bournemouth town centre.

This 4-hour course will cover everything you need to get started in Digital Photography and how to get the best out of your camera on the day to day basis. You’ll learn an assortment of techniques, how to set the right exposure and how to use the camera, lens & the flashgun to maximum effect.

This course is divided into 2 parts. First part is all about theory and the second part is a hands-on practical session on how to take great photos. You’ll take with you some incredible tips and tricks on how the pro photographers use simple yet highly effective techniques to take great photos.

You will need to bring: your digital SLR, memory cards, tripod.

Our 4 hour Intermediate Photography Courses courses are designed for those of you with basic camera ability who wish to discover how to get more from your camera, and learn exciting practical techniques to improve your photographs.

This course is ideal for those who have completed any of our basic courses and those who have a good understanding of the manual controls of their digital SLR camera. If you have never really used your SLR camera on its manual settings before we would advise that you take our Basic Photography Courses, which provide students with all they need to know to go on to Camera Techniques.

This in depth course is designed for students with a good understanding of manual camera control, who want to improve their camera skills and advance their creative photographic techniques. You will also explore different areas of photography such as portraiture, landscape, sports, travel and night photography. You will investigate compositional techniques such as subject placement, angle of view and framing and technical considerations such as choice of lenses and exposure controls. You will discover how to make the best use of light and creative exposure techniques.

You will need to bring: your digital SLR, memory cards, tripod.
